International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) accreditation is a specific quality certificate, confirmation of compliance by universities with the requirements for efficient functioning, excellence in teaching, professional management, and good relations with business. The accreditation guarantees that students in an accredited institution will obtain up-to-date professional knowledge and skills as well as a degree that is valued on the labour market.

The Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz has received specialized accreditation for its business programmes through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) located at 11374 Strang Line Road in Lenexa, Kansas, USA. What does obtaining accreditation mean for the Faculty of Management?

 

The IACBE accreditation marks the opening of a new stage of development for the Faculty of Management – now as part of a global network of business schools. The accreditation gives the Faculty of Management international recognition, increases its credibility not only nationwide, but above all internationally, significantly contributing to building its prestigious image. The IACBE accredited status confirms that the Faculty of Management meets the requirements in terms of quality of education that are valued in the business environment.

 

  

What are our responsibilities?

 

The received accreditation is an obligation to constantly monitor the quality of education and other activities that are undertaken by the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz, to permanently improve the quality of education.

IACBE accredits business majors. Accreditation has been granted to the following study programmes offered by the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz:

  • BA in Business Management
  • MA in Business Management

  

 

What does the IACBE evaluate?

 

The IACBE evaluates both the academic business units (Faculties at the University) as well as the entire institution (the University). The evaluation concentrates on determining whether the academic business units and the institution ensure appropriate teaching standards as well as the maintenance of the declared quality of education by ensuring appropriate infrastructure, budgeting, and human resources. The specific requirements for accreditation are included within 10 accreditation principles that refer to, amongst other issues:

  • assessment of learning outcomes,
  • strategic planning,
  • teaching programmes,
  • research and teaching staff,
  • scientific and professional activity of the staff,
  • university resources,
  • external and internal relations,
  • internationalization of education,
  • educational innovation.
